BREAST SHIELD SIZE

The size of your flange is important for your comfort and efficient pumping.

The size of your nipples will determine your Breast Shield size, therefore it must be properly measured for best results.After measuring, add 3-4mm to find your Breast Shield size. For example, if your nipple measure 16 mm, your Breast Shield size is 19-20 mm.

Spectra Breast Shields come in four sizes – 20mm (Small), 24mm (Medium), 28mm (Large ) and 32mm (Extra Large).

While pumping, your nipple should not rub or feel squished inside the Breast Shield tunnel. All of your nipple should fit into the Breast Shield tunnel and move in and out freely.

If you feel any discomfort, nipple pain or nipple blanching (turning white) while pumping, you may need a larger size. Some moms may need a different Breast Shield size on each breast and this can change over time.
